Aroma reminiscent of berries and grape, flavour distinctively tart and sweet. Use in: Sodas, Tea, Frozen beverages, Cocktails.
Suggested Recipes:
Pink Floyd Fizz: 45ml South Gin, 20ml Monin Pomegranate syrup, 15ml fresh pressed lemon juice, 1 tspn of castor sugar, 1/2 egg white, 1 btl sparking mineral water, lemongrass to garnish.
Red Onion Marmalade: 3 T unsalted butter, 5 red onions (chopped), 1 1/2 C red wine vinegar, 1/2 C Monin Creme De Cassis, 1/2 C Monin Pomegranate Syrup, 1/2 C red wine, 1/2 C coarsely chopped coriander, Salt and freshly ground white pepper. Method: Melt butter in a large saucepan and sweat the onions for 3 minutes over medium heat. Add the vinegar, cassis, pomgranate syrup and wine. Reduce, until the liquid has almost entirely evaporated and the onions are glazed. Add the coriander and season with salt and pepper to taste. Yield: about 3 cups. |
